Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh
Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential
Affairs and President of the Center for Documentation and
Research (CDR), the Research and Studies Department of the
CDR is actively involved in conducting scientific
research and publishing specialized studies on the history
and culture of the Arabian Gulf region in general and the
UAE in particular based on extensive investigation of
archival and other authentic source materials.
The
CDR will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with the
inauguration of the International History Conference in
November 2008.
The International History Conference to be held in Abu Dhabi from
November 23rd to 25th, 2008 under the theme, “New
Perspectives On Recording UAE History”, will cover different
aspects of the history of the UAE from the prehistoric
period up until the establishment of the Federation of the
UAE in 1971.
The conference is open to public participation. All are
welcome to attend.

Papers presented at the conference will be published by the
CDR in a special 40th anniversary commemorative
volume.
Entry Visa is required for all visitors except those from
the GCC and
other
select countries.
Visas will be provided for the speakers only. All interested
attendees are requested to contact the UAE Embassy in their
respective countries to organize visit visas for entry into
the UAE.
